Okoboji Commons Hotel

Great place with great amenities like free wi-fi, 24-hour reception, and a cozy restaurant. I remember my first stay when the staff helped with my bags. Highly recommend for a wonderful experience!

Nice building and rooms with a comfy bed. With a microwave oven, coffee and tea making equipment, and a fridge. Fantastic and incredible location - so close to a boat dock. The hotel so close to eateries and restaurants.

We would come here again when visiting Okoboji. The hotel has the restaurant for dinner.

The room was spacious, but noise outside disturbed our sleep nightly.

We loved exploring the gift shop and had a blast at the mini-golf course. The staff was super nice and helped with our plans. The rooms were clean and comfy, and the food at the snack shack was delicious. Great experience overall!

The only downside was that we wished there were more dining options available nearby, but we made do with what we found.

The hotel offered us spacious accommodations, perfect for our large family with three kids.

In my wife's opinion, more kid-friendly activities would enhance the experience.

The Okoboji Commons Hotel was really good! The room was large, sparkling clean, and beautifully decorated. We loved the cozy Adirondack chairs on the balcony overlooking the lake and enjoyed roasting marshmallows at the fire pits in the evening. Especially Misty and Paul, were cute.

The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The balcony offered a fantastic lakeside view which was perfect for morning coffee. The outdoor amenities were a big hit too. I loved sitting by the fire pits in the evening, roasting marshmallows and enjoying the warm, cozy atmosphere. The staff really stood out, especially Misty and Paul. They were helpful and were pretty good too. I did notice a lack of seating options in the room. It would be nice to have a chair or small dresser for added comfort. Breakfast was decent, but I would have liked more protein options. The noise outside our room during late hours was a little disruptive sometimes, especially on the busy 4th of July weekend. Despite these minor inconveniences, my experience was enjoyable and I look forward to coming back and staying longer next time.

Great coffee and nice staff.

Unfortunately, there was no seating in our room. We struggled to manage our luggage and belongings without a chair or a dresser. The noise from outside was another issue, as it went on from midnight to 4 am, made for a restless night on multiple occasions.

We had a fantastic time with the cozy fire pits and the spacious rooms! The unique cocktail offerings were a delightful surprise, making our evenings enjoyable. I would absolutely come back for another stay!

central home base for exploring parks and the lakefront

I appreciated the friendly staff's recommendations for nearby non-chain restaurants and enjoyed the beautiful views around the small dock, perfect for a peaceful evening stroll near the lakefront, just under a kilometer away from the hotel. It's great for couples looking to combine relaxation with some fun exploration, but it would be nice if the hotel had more comfortable seating options available to enhance the room experience.

The stay was enjoyable, particularly because of the great location and easy access to the beautiful nearby lake. I appreciated how meticulously clean the room was. The only downside was the need for a bit more seating in the room, but overall, it didn’t detract much from the experience. Being so close to local attractions added to the fun!

Excellent location and accommodating staff

The hotel had beautiful grounds and plenty of outdoor fire pits, perfect for evening gatherings. The staff, especially John, were very good too make sure we had the ideal room. While the breakfast options were adequate, I would have appreciated more protein choices.

Couple's perfect escape

The atmosphere here was something else, we had fires at night watching those fireflies dance around. And john, the guy at the front desk, he was amazing, even after his shift he helped us get properly settled in, real class act.

It wasn't exactly budget-friendly, but you get what you pay for, and it was still worth it.
